RUSH By TheLights | Review

As a pop fan who’s always on the hunt for something that explores new ground but still delivers that emotional punch, “RUSH” by THELIGHTS completely stopped me in my tracks. It’s not every day you find a track that brings an experimental edge with a kind of raw, emotional energy that just gets you—but this one does exactly that.

THELIGHTS, a London-based 2 piece made up of SLND and DEETZSCHK, have come up with something pretty special here. From the start, I felt like I was being pulled into a different dimension. The bold synths, atmospheric layers, and echoey vocals work together to build a sound that stands out.

What I love most is how the track feels like a journey. It captures that feeling of emotional highs and lows—like the rush of excitement before a night out, or the heavy calm that comes after a big decision. And as someone who grew up on polished pop anthems, hearing this more experimental take that still delivers feeling is super refreshing.
